Michael Armstrong feels that God has been sneaking up on him his whole life. No matter where he goes or how he hides, God keeps getting closer and closer to him. Because Michael was born into the Seventh-day Adventist tradition, his conversion story is not defined by a single event, but a whole series of stories. God has refused to let go of Michael, even when he was at his worst. 

Many life events became positive turning points in Michael’s life journey toward Christ. A youth speaker convinced Michael that even if there was doubt about the reality of God, a person could still pray for evidence of a personal, caring God. Looking for and finding this evidence has become important to him. A shotgun marriage and two children demonstrated to Michael how God can work through all things to bring us closer to Him. Through all the low points in life, where the future seemed uncertain—career changes, mistakes, and even cancer—God has shown Michael that He has a better future in mind for him than anticipated. Michael is looking forward with eager anticipation to the next future that God has in mind for him and for the ultimate future when God finally catches him fully, up close, and face-to-face.
